Description
"The breakthrough for Norrman came when he exhibited together with the Artists' Association in Stockholm in 1898. Ernest Thiel showed interest for Herman Norrman already in his early phase of collecting, and the landscape painting Home Farm was purchased in 1900. It was not only Thiel who caught the eye of his work at the exhibition in 1898, but paintings were also purchased by art collectors and patrons such as Prince Eugen, Eva Bonnier and Pontus Fürstenberg. In the following years, Norrman regularly exhibited his art at the Artists' Association's exhibitions, received positive reviews and his art was purchased by the country's most influential art collectors; he was thereby a part of Swedish art life."
